A big hello from springtime in Melbourne. It feels weird to be back in the 'four seasons in one day' city after living in tropical Bali all year.
I've landed back in my family home and have been seeing clients face to face over the last 2 weeks.
My instincts are saying to stay in Melbourne until the new year so I'm around for more face to face counselling, massage and of course my usual Skype sessions until then. (Email is the best way to book a spot)
I feel super blessed to have created a work life that can move with my wild intuitive flow. However, it also means that I've had to get used to repeatedly diving into the unknown with intuitive faith.
Which leads me onto this weeks blog post.
How comfortable are you with surrendering to the unknown?
How much do you trust life and it's natural unfolding?
Calling all control freaks. Put your hands in the air.
Yes I'm talking to YOU!
We are all control freaks in some way. Some more than others.
I am for sure. My mind surrenders deeper and deeper into the abyss of truth and unknowingness everyday... but i still get tricked by my mind sometimes. It loves to attempt to control and manipulate life to go MY WAY.
When this happens I feel myself go into stress head, over thinking and stubborn mode, rather than relaxing into my heart space and intuitively trusting the flow.
I've noticed that the times that my control freak dial gets turned up is when I'm feeling insecure and some big gnarly waves of uncomfortable emotions are rising.
Oh shit... here it comes... noooooooo!
Then body tenses, the mind takes over and tries to reach out for the familiar patterns of behaviour to find some sense of control amongst the chaos and the intuitive quiet voice gets overlooked.
This is when we can feel confused, lost, overwhelmed, anxious and the life struggle begins.
So control freak mode is actually a helpful alarm bell to prompt us to surrender and trust.
3 hot tips for transforming control freak mode into blissful surrender.
1. Open to change - mother nature is in a constant state of flux. Ebb and flow. Light and dark. Growth and decay. Constant cycles of movement. Constant cycles of change. We humans are a part of nature and thrive when we flow with change. Change equals growth. If you are not regularly stepping up your growth, life will give you a nudge, push, slap or it will pull the rug from out under you. Go with it. We often resist the natural flow by trying to control, control, control. Life is a struggle when we fight the flow... so go with it.
2. Open to emotional release – at the apex of change we naturally release the old to prepare us for the new... every time! Often we hope that eventually we'll stop feeling fear and sadness and will skip down the path on an ever lasting high. But of course that only happens in fairytales. We are human and have emotions to purify our being so may we allow them to flow like water. The more comfortable we become with emotional release the easier life is.
3. Open to the unknown – the essence of who were are is a vast unknown unchanging expanse. All of life's treasures are born from the unknown. Wisdom, peace and freedom. When our life naturally moves into an unknown phase it is a powerful time to surrender into the truth of who we are. It is an opportunity for spiritual awakening. Our guide through this phase is our quiet intuitive voice and intuitive vision which suggests either a place to rest or a direction to move in. If it is hard to find your intuitive guidance within, surround yourself with your wisest support people. I'm here for you! :)
When we can master the vast yet subtle difference between flowing intuitive action and our controlling mental will... life is a playful dance.
Let loose wild ones!
