You have a dream or goal in mind but you have some behaviours that seem to create roadblocks to your progress. The same patterns keep you creating the same results over and over! Kinda like banging your head against a brick wall! Ahh frustrating!!!
It is something that we all do at times in our lives and it is all part of the growth process to have the courage to investigate our sabotage patterns and let them go.
Some of the most common forms of self sabotage are;
-Fear of failure.
-Fear of taking risks.
-Fear of making mistakes.
-Inability to say no to others.
-Inability to think flexibly about problems.
-Inability to admit mistakes or errors.
-Having unrealistic expectations.
-Critically judging ourselves or others.
-Constantly comparing yourself to others.
-The habit of procrastination.
-The habit of perfectionism.
-Limiting thoughts focused on what’s not working.
Many of my current business mentoring clients are being brave and doing the work to clear away their sabotage patterns. When they do... their progress in their business is like a rocket. Zooooom!
When you move past the old patterns it opens you up to receive in a whole new way; to receive the abundance you deserve, receive new clients/customers, receive new opportunities, receive new ideas/inspiration and receive support/appreciation. All the gems required to create a successful business and life can flood on in.
If you have been following me for a while you will know that I have quite an adventurous spirit and I love to regularly head off into the wilderness and connect deeply with nature and my true essence.
So I love the analogy of creating your own business as a wild adventure!
Each sabotage behaviour that we uncover is like a new mountain or dark forest to explore. It is not a setback but an opportunity for growth and awakening.
Below are my 3 tips to get through the sabotage wilderness and create shining success.
1. Identify how you are sabotaging – Awareness is always the first step to change. We first need to know how we are sabotaging ourselves before we can work to move beyond it. I have a highly sensitive 'bullshit' meter and can see when my clients are hiding behind sabotage patterns but I always encourage you to spot them for yourself. Ask yourself in what ways am I currently sabotaging my dreams?
2. Uncover the underlying belief – Underneath all sabotage behaviours is a false or limiting belief that needs to be challenged. Most beliefs beneath sabotage are similar to these, “I'm not good enough”, “I'm not worthy of success”, “I deserve things to be hard and fail”. Dive in deep into your shadow self and uncover the belief that is the trigger for the behaviour pattern. Ask yourself... is it really true? Of course it will be bollocks!
3. Replace the behaviour and belief– Once you have identified the belief underlying the behaviour pattern, focus your mind on the real truth such as “I am enough”, “I good at what I do and am worthy of success”, “I approach all challenges with courage and playfulness”. Allow these true statements to be imprinted on your subconscious when you wake in the morning, when you are ready for sleep and during your deep meditations. Find the opposite behaviour that is more constructive and undertake it regularly.
