How do you feel about selling in your business?
Most soulful entrepreneurs dislike the selling side of business... talking about pricing, asking if their clients want to buy or encouraging past clients to return...yuk!
I used to cringe at the thought of selling... UNTIL I understood that selling is service!
Myself and all of my business mentoring clients offer a powerful product or service that changes lives, solves problems, eases frustrations, creates dreams, heals hearts and minds, inspires social change and has a positive influence on the planet.
We are all being of service to our local and global communities. We are fulfilling our missions, following our dreams, expressing our talents and creativity and making this world a greater place.
Our products and services are needed, valuable and essential... so what can we do to feel better about the sales process and to be more effective at it?
3 Soulful Sales Tips
1. Feel Abundant – There is nothing worse than feeling that you have to get your next client or sale to pay the bills. This creates an underlying energy of desperation that your clients can usually feel which often repels them from buying. The best way that we can prepare for a 'sales conversation' is to fill our mind with abundance and trust that all of our business and financial needs are taken care of and we can simply focus on exploring whether our product or service is what the client needs to solve their problem or satisfy their desire. An underlying abundant energy allows us to relax, be natural, be ourselves and simply share the details of our offering with confidence and passion. Feeling abundant allows us to loosen our attachment to the outcome and thus be authentic and naturally magnetic with our words... powerful!
2. Listen Deeply - In a 'sales conversation' it is essential that we ask questions about what our client is having trouble with and what they truly desire. We then need to listen deeply to their answer.
This may involve asking more questions to explore in more detail so that they feel heard, understood and connected. When we deeply understand our clients we can then offer our product or service as the solution to their problem and the roadmap to their desires (if of course it is a good match). If your product or service does not fully connect with the clients needs we once again need to trust in the abundance and let go of clients that are not an ideal fit for our business.
3. Clearly State the Benefits - People don't buy things or processes we buy outcomes and results. The thing that gets your client to go from interested to taking action, saying YES and pulling out their credit card is to be clear on what they are getting, clear on what the likely outcomes will be and clear on the benefits it will bring.
After you've done some deep listening, then talk about the benefits of your program/product and link these benefits back to what you heard your client say they want so they can clearly see your product or service is highly valuable and will meet their needs. This way there is no persuasion or pushing in the selling... instead it is simply an honest, authentic and natural conversation about problems and solutions.
